The Lot of Fortune is a theoretical point derived from the relationship between the Sun and Moon, projecting that same distance from the Ascendant, depending on whether you were born during the day or at night. This projection goes in the direction of the light of the sect to the light contrary to sect. Since the projection is made in the direction of the contrary to sect light, it represents a casting out into the contrary, the undefined, the unknown. Since the Lot of Fortune is in essence a lunar Lot, it embodies more of these passive principles to ultimately signify something about one’s circumstances outside of one’s control, the way the lots are cast, the way the dice are rolled, the weather. Zodiacal Releasing from the Lot of Fortune shows ups, downs and reversals in relation to your general circumstances and physical state.
You will absolutely need your birth time to know where your Lot of Fortune is. In general, this is how you calculate the Lot of Fortune.
- Born during the day?
- Fortune, the Moon’s Lot, is the distance from the Sun to the Moon (light contrary to sect) projected from the Ascendant.
- Spirit, the Sun’s Lot, is the distance from the Moon to the Sun (sect light) projected from the Ascendant.
- Born at night?
- Fortune, the Moon’s Lot, is the distance from the Moon to the Sun (light contrary to sect) projected from the Ascendant.
- Spirit, the Sun’s Lot, is the distance from the Sun to the Moon (sect light) projected from the Ascendant.
